GRAPHIC SERVICES INQUIRY

ABOUT THIS PROCESS

NOTE: Worthy Shorts® does not provide graphic services as part of its New Title publication service. WSGS is an independent service offered by Worthy Shorts®. It is available only to registered Worthy Shorts® authors. If you have not engaged in professional graphics services, we recommend you contact WSGS with this inquiry before sending your new title to production.
Getting started is a simple process. Submitting this form will enable WSGS to provide you with an estimate of what will be required for such pre-press graphic services as your images may require. We will confirm its receipt and send you an estimate and a request for further information we may require. At that time we will request your credit card information. Before we provide any graphic services, we will furnish you with estimated costs and, upon your approval, we may also furnish sample graphic treatments for which there will be a nominal charge in the event you decide not to proceed with this service.

INSTRUCTIONS

(If you are a Registered Worthy Shorts® Author, proceed to step 3.)

  1. Register as a Worthy Shorts® Author here: Terms of Agreement and Author Registration Application.
  2. Upon acceptance of your registration, you will receive a Private Press Page password.
  3. Prepare the following files:
    1. An MS Word or text file with the following:
      1. Your working title, subtitle, and author byline
      2. A table of contents
      3. A list of illustrations or figures you plan to include
      4. Frontmatter, text, backmatter
      5. Include and link by reference number within the manuscript any captions, legends, or insertion information for illustrations or figures
    2. Using the list of illustrations above, provide a 3-4 representative digital files with a description of the condition of the original art and any scanned files.
      Please present these files as one zipped file.
  4. Provide the information requested on this form (including passwords.)
  5. Select the design treatment for your book.
  6. Upload the files you prepared in step 3 at the bottom of the page.
  7. Click "Review Request" to review your information. You may make changes before submitting this form.
  8. When your inquiry has been processed, we may do the following:
    1. Advise you via email about further steps that we suggest you take.
    2. Request sample downloads on our FTP site of digital files or that you send insured sample originals. At that point we may contact you by phone or e-mail and advise you in advance whether any consultation is recommended before we submit a proposal.
  9. If we submit a proposal, you will receive an estimate of what is required and the cost, and a request for further information we may require. Before we provide graphics service we may furnish you with a sample for which there will be a nominal charge in the event you decide not to proceed with the service.

NOTE: If you are not the author of the book (e.g. you are bringing into print works by others who may be deceased, or friends, colleagues or family who are permitting you to use all or part of works they have created), or you are a co-Author, publishing in behalf of others, you will be asked in our response document to attest that you have the rights to publication. Worthy Shorts® will require that your name appear on the copyright page as the sponsor if it is not in the byline of the work.
