This short keepsake features three dessert treats from recipes the author, a New York City-born California career publishing professional, has garnered over the years from treasured family and friends. She writes, "Oatmeal Apple Crisp, A Mother's Recipe, and Old Fashioned Lemon Pudding, Richard's Recipe are both taken from a hand written recipe collection of recipes left to me as an inheritance from a very dear friend, Richard, who has long since passed on. . . . Rick loved to cook and had a 'sweet tooth.' His mother left to him as part of his inheritance her personal collection of handwritten recipes, and he left them to me upon his passing. These recipe pages are part of a small 4 x 6 three-ring binder. Rick often went to his mom's cookbook to 'borrow' a special recipe."

"My childhood friend Susan's Mom, Assunta, or Suzie as we called her, made the best Italian donuts, along with my darling grandmother, Angie. They are called Sfinge or Zeppole depending upon what section of Italy you come from. These two wonderful Italian women never met but did happen to share the same recipe for Sfinge or Zeppole. Angie and Suzie were an important part of my life and are now are given life in my memories."
