O n behalf of the observer-delegation of the

United States National Student Association, I wish to express my appreciation for the courtesy this Congress extends to us in permitting us to present this statement on behalf of American students. At this first opportunity I should also like to extend our warmest gratitude to the unions of Czech youth and students whose hospitality and assistance has contributed so much to our visit to Prague.

I have requested the permission of this body to address myself to a number of questions, directed to the student leadership in the United States and elsewhere, posed in your Executive Report. I speak in behalf and for the U.S. National Student Association and its membership of over 800,000 American students, the student bodies of over 310 colleges and universities, represented through their
