My first acknowledgment is to my devoted husband, with out whose time, patience, and never-ending encouragement (even with frequent 1:00 a.m. dinners and deadlines), this book would not have been completed. I am deeply grateful for your understanding, love and loyalty to me and my dream. To my wonderful parents who allowed me to open up their vulnerabilities again and give all of you faith to love again.

My second acknowledgment is to my mother-in-love (my mother-in-law), Helen Weil, for her invaluable and selfless contributions and dedication for giving up vacations and all of her free time so I could realize my goal. How lucky I am to have two mothers.

I would like to thank those patients who allowme to enter their world and take this journey with me to make this book possible so others may also heal.

I would like to thank my first therapist, Harvey B. Bezahler, M.D., whose continued guidance, patience and forcefulness with issues concerning my father, even when I resisted , helped to shape the first pages of this book. He has been and will always be an instrumental force and a guiding light in my professional and per-sonal success.

Acknowledgments
